First night…

Surgeon and staff went over all of the pain management plan and the list of questions we had for them. We are so thankful for a wonderful team we have taking care of Yoshi. Surgeon said he was doing a lot better then she thought. Biopsy will be in 10-14 days from now, 2 weeks bed rest, and then chemo. Yoshi is trying to maneuver his way around with a cone on and three legs. We are assisting him with a sling and collar/leash. Very awkward and we might try putting a T-shirt around his back so he doesn’t have to wear the collar all the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ate for us but hasn’t drank any water since yesterday. Worried about dehydration and everything else! We did not get any restful sleep, since every time he moved we got up to check on him. We assumed the first night would be tough. Yoshi likes to take late night strolls and he’s figuring out how to go to the bathroom. So happy he is home and wagging his tail. One day at a time.

We’re so glad it went well and Yoshi is home! We tried to put a t-shirt on Zato but he managed to get out of it the first time we left the room, so I don’t know about that!

Zato also would eat but not really drink. I was also worried about dehydration, especially with the pain pills he was taking, so I ended up putting a spoonful of cottage cheese in a bowl of water (he likes cottage cheese) and he drank it all.

One day at a time, absolutely! We hope he has an easy, speedy recovery.
